Brief History

Though registered in September 2009 as Islandermall.com, our company history is rich and dates back to 1999. In 1999, a group of entrepreneurs began selling in Trinidad & Tobago, our home country, via Buytt.com. The product line centred on computers and computer equipment and our marketing strategy was primarily word of mouth. While profitable for a short while, the competition in the local market considerably increased and we withdrew from the computer business focusing on a wider range of products which were sold via eCommerce. At that time, regional internet penetration was low and did not grow as rapidly as in North America. Thereafter, some of the company owners migrated and started selling one-on-one and online in the US as well as in Trinidad. The product of choice was largely Alarm systems. Later, the business finally registered as Islandermall.com LLC in the state of Delaware in late September 2009. Today, we are returning to the Caribbean and designing our product solutions for our Caribbean family. In June 2010, we will establish a sister company in Trinidad & Tobago known as Islander eServices Ltd.
